One Health Kansas and K-State Olathe will offer a summer workshop for 20 high school biology, chemistry, life science, environmental science, and Career and Technical Education agriculture, health, biochemistry and biomedical pathways teachers on the topic of One Health: Integrating Animal, Human and Environmental Health into the Curriculum. Scholarships are available to offset the cost of travel, lodging, graduate tuition and fees.
The four day graduate level course includes field experiences, lab work, hot topics in infectious disease, current best practice, and cutting edge research presented by researchers and scientists from the university, industry, and government. Teachers will leave the workshop with lesson plans, field trip ideas, and a kit of materials to replicate many of the week’s activities in the classroom.
